Композиция «Courtesy call» стала девятым треком, записанным канадской рок-командой Thousand Foot Krutch для девятого студийного альбома, выпущенного в 2012 году. В 2011 году музыканты объявили о том, что покидают звукозаписывающий лейбл и хотят выпустить независимый альбом. После чего группа открыла счет, чтобы собрать деньги для финансирования записи альбома и в конечном итоге набрала нужную сумму. Синглы с альбома были нелегально выложены в сеть интернет и в настоящее время доступны для скачивания всем желающим.
